NICU STAFF NURSE

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled and compassionate NICU Staff Nurse to provide specialized nursing care to newborns and critically ill neonates. The candidate should have positive knowledge of neonatal care, monitoring, infection control, and emergency management.

Key Responsibilities
Provide specialized nursing care to neonates admitted to the NICU.
Monitor vital signs, oxygen saturation, temperature, blood glucose, and other clinical parameters.
Administer medications, IV fluids, injections, and treatments as prescribed.
Assist doctors during neonatal procedures and emergencies.
Manage and monitor neonates on oxygen support, CPAP, ventilators, and other respiratory support as applicable.
Maintain IV lines, feeding tubes, catheters, and other neonatal devices.
Provide appropriate feeding and nutritional support as instructed.
Maintain strict aseptic and infection-control practices.
Monitor neonates for changes in clinical condition and immediately report abnormalities to the doctor/senior nurse.
Maintain accurate nursing records, medication charts,



observation charts, and NICU documentation.
Assist with blood sampling, investigations, and other procedures as required.
Maintain NICU equipment and ensure readiness for emergencies.
Educate and support parents regarding neonatal care and feeding practices.
Follow hospital nursing protocols, patient-safety standards, and NICU guidelines.

Requirements
Qualification: GNM / B.Sc Nursing.
Valid Nursing Registration is mandatory.
Previous NICU experience is preferred.
Candidates with experience in neonatal intensive care, newborn care, or pediatric nursing will be preferred.
Valuable knowledge of neonatal monitoring, medication administration, infection control, and emergency care.
Ability to work in rotational shifts, including night shifts.
Good communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
Compassionate and attentive approach to neonatal and family care.

Preferred Experience 1+ year of NICU / neonatal nursing experience preferred.
