Role Description

UERF is seeking an experienced and qualified Finance Officer to join its finance function in a full time, on-site role based in Dehradun.

The Finance Officer will be responsible for managing and overseeing key financial and accounting functions, including financial reporting, preparation and analysis of financial statements, budgeting, statutory compliance, audit coordination, and financial record management. The role will also involve monitoring financial processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance, and providing relevant financial information and insights to support management decision-making.

The position will require close coordination with internal departments, auditors, consultants, and other stakeholders to ensure effective financial management and adherence to applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare, review, and analyse financial statements and management reports.
- Oversee accounting and financial reporting processes to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Assist in preparation, monitoring, and review of annual budgets and financial projections.




- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, taxation laws, GST provisions, and other statutory requirements.
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors and facilitate timely completion of audits.
- Monitor financial records, reconciliations, and accounting transactions to ensure proper controls and documentation.
- Review and monitor statutory filings, tax compliances, and related financial obligations.
- Provide financial analysis and insights to support management in planning and decision-making.
- Monitor cash flows, expenditure, and other key financial parameters.
- Ensure adherence to established financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Coordinate with various departments/institutions on finance and accounting matters.
- Undertake other finance-related responsibilities as may be assigned by the management.

Qualifications & Experience

- Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) is mandatory.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or a related discipline.
- 8–10 years of relevant experience in finance and accounts, preferably in a large-sized organisation.
- Strong knowledge of financial accounting, financial statements, and management reporting.
- Sound understanding of Accounting Standards, Income Tax, GST, and statutory compliances.
- Proficiency in Tally, ERP systems, and MS Office, particularly MS Excel.
- Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
- Good understanding of financial controls, audit processes, and accounting procedures.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively with multiple stakeholders.
- Experience in an educational institution, not-for-profit organisation, or a multi-entity organisation will be an added advantage.
