Role Description The Fetal Medicine Consultant – Chennai will provide expert clinical care in fetal medicine, including performing detailed fetal scans, diagnostic ultrasounds, and assessments for high-risk pregnancies. The consultant will interpret imaging and diagnostic results, counsel expectant parents on findings and management plans, and collaborate closely with obstetricians, neonatologists, and other specialists to ensure coordinated care. Daily responsibilities include conducting outpatient consultations, monitoring ongoing cases, documenting clinical findings accurately, and participating in case discussions and quality improvement initiatives.

The role also involves contributing to patient education,



supporting training activities for junior clinicians and sonographers, and staying current with advances in fetal medicine. This is a full-time, on-site role based at the Mom n Me Fetal Medicine Center in Guindy.

Qualifications

- Solid clinical expertise in Medicine with specialized training or significant experience in Fetal Medicine and Obstetrics.
- Exposure to Cardiology or fetal cardiac evaluation, with the ability to interpret relevant findings and coordinate care for fetal cardiac conditions.
- Demonstrated experience working with physicians and multidisciplinary teams, ensuring collaborative, patient-centered care.
- Competence in Emergency Medicine principles related to obstetric and fetal emergencies, including timely decision-making and escalation of care.
- Ability to provide training and clinical guidance to junior doctors, sonographers, and other healthcare staff in fetal medicine practices.
- Recognized medical degree (MBBS) with postgraduate qualification in Obstetrics & Gynecology (MD/MS/DNB) and fellowship or certification in Fetal Medicine preferred.
- Current medical registration with the appropriate council and adherence to ethical, evidence-based clinical standards.
- Excellent communication and counseling skills, with a compassionate approach to supporting expectant parents.
- Attention to detail in imaging, documentation, and case follow-up, with proficiency in using advanced ultrasound and fetal monitoring equipment.
- Willingness to work on-site in Guindy and participate in flexible schedules as required for clinical services.
