Role overview

We are seeking a highly skilled DevOps & Release Engineer to lead and optimise our software delivery lifecycle. The role will be responsible for designing and managing CI/CD pipelines, release planning, deployment automation, environment governance, and DevOps controls to ensure secure, reliable, and productive software releases.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in modern cloud-native delivery practices, release governance, automation frameworks, security integration, and cross-functional collaboration with development, QA, infrastructure, and product teams.

Key responsibilities

CI/CD and deployment automation

- Design, implement, and maintain enterprise-grade CI/CD pipelines.
- Automate build, test, deployment, and rollback processes.
- Standardise deployment practices across multiple applications and environments.
- Improve deployment frequency, reliability, and lead time through automation.

Release planning and management

- Own end-to-end release planning and execution activities.
- Coordinate release schedules with product, engineering, QA, and operations teams.
- Manage release readiness reviews and deployment checklists.
- Ensure timely and controlled releases with minimal business disruption.

Environment management

- Establish and maintain development, test, staging, and production environments.
- Define environment provisioning and configuration standards.
- Monitor environment health, stability, and availability.
- Drive Infrastructure as Code (IaC) adoption where applicable.

DevSecOps governance

- Integrate security controls into CI/CD pipelines.
- Implement static and dynamic security scanning, vulnerability management, and compliance checks.
- Ensure adherence to security, regulatory, and organisational standards.




- Collaborate with security teams to address risks and remediate findings.

Release governance and compliance

- Define release policies, approval workflows, and deployment standards.
- Conduct release risk assessments and change reviews.
- Maintain audit trails and release documentation.
- Drive continuous improvement in release management processes and metrics.

Production support and rollback planning

- Develop rollback and disaster recovery procedures for critical releases.
- Lead release monitoring and post-deployment validation activities.
- Participate in incident management and root cause analysis.
- Establish deployment success metrics and monitoring dashboards.

Required qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 7-9 years of experience in DevOps, Release Engineering, or Platform Engineering roles.
- Strong experience with CI/CD platforms such as Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or similar.
- Hands-on experience in deployment automation and release orchestration.
- Experience managing complex multi-environment deployments.
- Strong understanding of Azure cloud platform
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Bicep, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
- Experience integrating security scanning and compliance controls into delivery pipelines.
- Strong understanding of change management, release governance, and operational risk management.

Preferred qualifications

- Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and container orchestration platforms.
- Experience implementing SRE and platform engineering practices.
- Knowledge of monitoring and observability tools such as Azure Monitor, Datadog, Grafana, ELK, or Splunk.
- Relevant certifications such as:
- Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert
- Azure Administrator / Azure Solutions Architect
- Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)
- AWS DevOps Engineer
- DevSecOps certifications
