Role & responsibilities
Identify and evaluate suppliers for raw materials, components, consumables, and engineering items.
Prepare and release Purchase Orders (POs) as per approved requirements.
Obtain quotations from suppliers and negotiate price, delivery, payment terms, and other commercial conditions.
Compare quotations and prepare comparative statements for purchase decisions.
Coordinate with suppliers regarding order confirmation, delivery schedules, quality, and payment-related issues.
Follow up regularly to ensure timely delivery of materials as per production requirements.
Coordinate with Production, Quality, Stores, Design, and Accounts departments for purchase-related activities.
Monitor supplier performance, including quality, delivery, and cost competitiveness.
Maintain proper purchase records, supplier documents, quotations, POs, and related documentation.
Support supplier development, evaluation, and onboarding activities.
Handle purchase-related issues and coordinate with suppliers for timely resolution.
Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, quality standards, and approved procedures.




Monitor material requirements and support inventory control to avoid shortages or excess stock.
Prepare purchase-related reports and maintain MIS as required.
Assist in cost reduction and process improvement initiatives.

Preferred candidate profile
Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
13 years of experience in Purchase / Procurement, preferably in a manufacturing or engineering company.
Good knowledge of engineering materials, components, and manufacturing processes.
Experience in supplier development, quotation comparison, price negotiation, and purchase order processing.
Valuable communication and negotiation skills.
Valuable knowledge of MS Excel, MS Office, and ERP/Purchase software.
Ability to coordinate effectively with suppliers and internal departments.
Robust follow-up, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple purchase requirements.
Knowledge of GST, basic commercial terms, and procurement documentation will be an added advantage.
