Proposal & Estimation Engineer – Static Equipment Manufacturing

Key Responsibilities

- Inquiry Review: Review and understand client technical specifications, datasheets, RFQs, tender documents, drawings, and project requirements.
- Technical Evaluation: Study the scope of work, applicable codes and standards, material specifications, design requirements, and client requirements.
- Cost Estimation: Prepare accurate cost estimates covering raw materials, fabrication, machining, welding, inspection, testing, consumables, manpower, transportation, and overhead costs.
- Proposal Preparation: Prepare detailed technical and commercial proposals, quotations, compliance statements, and bid documents within specified deadlines.
- Vendor Coordination: Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain material and service quotations and ensure competitive costing.
- Client Coordination: Communicate with clients, consultants, and buyers to clarify technical requirements, commercial terms, and project-related queries.
- Client Negotiation: Participate in technical and commercial discussions and negotiations regarding specifications, pricing, delivery schedules, and commercial terms.
- Sales Support: Identify current business opportunities, support business development activities, and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients.
- Order Follow-up: Coordinate with clients for order finalization, purchase orders, and related documentation.
- Payment Recovery: Coordinate with clients for outstanding payments,



follow up on payment commitments, and support timely payment recovery.
- Internal Coordination: Coordinate with Design, Production, Purchase, Quality, Projects, and Accounts departments to ensure smooth execution of orders.
- Maintain proper records of inquiries, quotations, revisions, negotiations, orders, and payment follow-ups.

Required Qualification

- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Relevant experience in Static Equipment Manufacturing is required.

Required Industry Experience

Candidates should have experience in Static Equipment Manufacturing, preferably involving products such as:

- Pressure Vessels
- Heat Exchangers
- Columns / Towers
- Storage Tanks
- Reactors
- Process Equipment
- Skids and other fabricated equipment

Required Skills

- Strong knowledge of cost estimation and quotation preparation
- Good understanding of engineering drawings and technical specifications
- Knowledge of fabrication, machining, welding, and material costing
- Good negotiation and client-handling skills
- Strong communication and coordination skills
- Ability to work under strict deadlines
- Good knowledge of MS Excel and MS Office
- Commercial awareness and analytical skills

Preferred Candidate Profile

Candidates from the Static Equipment Manufacturing industry will be preferred. Candidates should have practical experience in preparing quotations, estimating project costs, handling technical/commercial inquiries, client coordination, and payment follow-up.
