Job Title: Arc Welder / Fabrication Technician

Position Summary:

An Arc Welder is responsible for using electrical arc welding equipment (SMAW, GMAW/MIG, GTAW/TIG, or FCAW) to join, fabricate, and repair metal components and structures according to engineering drawings, blueprints, and quality specifications.

Key Responsibilities

- Pre-Welding Preparation: Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine project specs, dimensions, and welding sequences. Clean, grind, align, and bevel metal surfaces prior to welding.
- Welding Operations: Set up and operate manual, semi-automatic, or automatic arc welding equipment to fuse ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Adjust machine settings (amperage, voltage, wire feed speed) based on material thickness and metal type.
- Inspection & Quality Control: Conduct visual inspections and use measuring tools to evaluate completed welds for structural integrity, correct penetration, and defect freedom (cracks, porosity, undercut).
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, calibration, and minor repairs on welding machines, torches, regulators, and hand tools.
- Safety & Compliance:



Adhere strictly to occupational safety protocols, including wearing proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as auto-darkening welding helmets, leather gloves, and flame-retardant clothing. Maintain a clean and hazard-free workspace.

Requirement CategoryDescriptionEducation & Certification High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of a technical welding program or apprenticeship preferred. AWS (American Welding Society) certification or relevant local trade certification is a robust plus.

Technical SkillsProficiency in arc processes (SMAW, MIG, TIG). Ability to read engineering blueprints, weld symbols, and use measurement tools (calipers, protractors)

.Physical DemandsStrong physical stamina, hand-eye coordination, ability to lift heavy materials (50+ lbs), and comfort working in confined spaces or elevated heights.

ExperienceTypically 1–3 years of hands-on structural or industrial welding experience.

Pay: ₹18,667.00 - ₹28,000.00 per month
