Job Title: Data Modeler

Job Summary:

A Data Modeler is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining data models that support business processes and analytics. The role ensures data is structured, consistent, and optimized for performance, scalability, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

- Design conceptual, logical, and physical data models
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into data structures
- Develop and maintain data dictionaries, schemas, and ER diagrams
- Ensure data quality, integrity, and consistency across systems
- Work with data architects and engineers to implement models in databases
- Optimize database performance through effective design
- Support data warehousing and BI solutions
- Collaborate with stakeholders (business, analysts, developers)
- Maintain documentation and data standards
- Perform impact analysis for schema changes

Skill Requirements





- Strong understanding of data modeling concepts (ER modeling, normalization, dimensional modeling)
- Hands-on experience with databases like Oracle Database, SQL Server, or MySQL
- Proficiency in SQL
- Experience with data modeling tools (Erwin, ER/Studio, PowerDesigner)
- Knowledge of data warehousing concepts (star schema, snowflake schema)
- Understanding of ETL processes

Preferred Skills:

- Experience with big data platforms like Apache Hadoop or Apache Spark
- Knowledge of cloud platforms like Microsoft Azure or AWS
- Familiarity with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau)
- Understanding of data governance and metadata management
