The Role

We're hiring a Senior Data Engineer to own the quality control layer above our data annotation team. You'll sit at the intersection of data operations and AI model training — ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the structured data that powers Augrade's AI systems. This is a hands-on leadership role with direct impact on model performance.

What You'll Do

- Own the file submission and QC process for annotated construction data (CAD, BIM, MEP)





- Review and validate outputs from junior annotators; enforce quality standards

- Perform AutoCAD annotation and data labeling as needed (hands-on, not just oversight)

- Collaborate with the CV/ML engineering team to close the gap between AI outputs (currently 80–90% accuracy) and production-ready data

- Manage and mentor a team of data annotators; drive process improvements

- Coordinate with engineering leads before any major workflow or tooling decisions

What We're Looking For

Required

- 7-12 years of experience in data engineering, BIM/CAD data operations, or a related field

- Experience with Point Cloud Annotation and 3D data labeling

- Strong AutoCAD proficiency — this is the primary technical requirement

- MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) knowledge

- BIM and construction industry background

- Some leadership or project management experience — you've owned a process or team before

Preferred

- Experience at companies like AECOM, Bentley Systems, Jacobs, or WSP

- Familiarity with AI/ML data pipelines and human-in-the-loop validation workflows

- Comfort working in a quick-paced, early-stage environment
