Role Overview
We are looking for a Plant Engineer to oversee daily fabrication shop operations across cutting, grinding, welding, blasting, and painting processes. This role works closely with the Shop Supervisor to track progress, consolidate daily reports, and directly assist the Plant Head in production planning and execution. A great fit for an engineer early in their career who wants hands-on exposure to running a fabrication shop floor.

Key Responsibilities

- Oversee daily shop floor operations across all fabrication stages: cutting, grinding, welding, blasting, and painting
- Coordinate with the Shop Supervisor to monitor job progress, manpower allocation, and machine/equipment utilization
- Compile daily/weekly shop production reports (output, delays, rejections, rework) and present them to the Plant Head
- Assist the Plant Head in production planning, scheduling, and resource allocation across ongoing projects
- Monitor adherence to quality standards (IS 2062, AWS D1.1, or applicable client specs) at each process stage
- Ensure safety protocols are followed during welding, blasting, and painting operations
- Coordinate with Purchase and Stores teams to ensure timely material availability for shop floor requirements




- Identify bottlenecks or delays in the production flow and escalate/resolve issues promptly
- Support the Plant Head in coordinating with QC, dispatch, and project teams for timely order completion
- Maintain shop floor discipline, housekeeping, and adherence to ISO 9001:2015 processes

Required Qualifications & Experience

- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field (Degree/B.E.-B.Tech candidates also welcome)
- 1–3 years of experience in a structural steel fabrication, PEB, or heavy engineering shop floor role
- Basic working knowledge of fabrication processes: cutting, grinding, welding, blasting, and painting
- Willingness to work closely with shop floor supervisors and workers on a daily basis
- Familiarity with production reporting and quality/safety practices in a fabrication setting
- Proficiency in MS Excel for reporting; ERP exposure is a plus

Preferred

- Prior internship or work experience in a PEB or structural steel fabrication company
- Basic knowledge of welding standards (AWS D1.1) and surface treatment/blasting standards (SSPC-SP 10)

Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
