Job Purpose

To support the procurement of grains, chemicals, enzymes, and other production raw materials required for uninterrupted ethanol manufacturing operations. The role involves supplier coordination, procurement planning, purchase order execution, logistics coordination, inventory monitoring, and ensuring timely availability of quality raw materials at competitive prices.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement Operations

- Assist in procuring grains, chemicals, enzymes, and other raw materials as per production requirements.
- Float Requests for Quotation (RFQs) and obtain competitive quotations from approved suppliers.
- Prepare techno-commercial comparison statements and support supplier selection.
- Create Purchase Requisitions (PRs) and Purchase Orders (POs) in the ERP system.
- Follow up with suppliers for timely dispatch and delivery of materials.
- Coordinate emergency purchases to avoid production interruptions.
- Resolve issues related to quantity, quality, pricing, and delivery with suppliers.

Raw Materials to be Procured

Responsible for procurement of:

- Broken Rice
- Maize (Corn)
- Damaged Food Grains (DFG), where permitted by applicable regulations
- Rice Bran and other approved feedstocks
- Enzymes (Alpha Amylase, Glucoamylase, Protease, etc.)
- Yeast and fermentation nutrients
- Process chemicals including Caustic Soda, Sulphuric Acid, Hydrochloric Acid, Antifoam, Sodium Hypochlorite, and other approved chemicals
- Water treatment chemicals
- Laboratory chemicals and consumables
- Production consumables related to grain handling and fermentation

Vendor & Market Management

- Develop and maintain relationships with grain traders, millers, aggregators, farmers' organizations, and chemical suppliers.
- Identify and evaluate recent suppliers to improve competitiveness and supply reliability.




- Assist in commercial negotiations to achieve cost savings.
- Monitor supplier performance based on quality, delivery, responsiveness, and compliance.

Quality & Inventory Coordination

- Coordinate with the Quality Control team to ensure incoming materials meet approved specifications.
- Work closely with Stores and Production to maintain optimum inventory levels.
- Monitor stock levels and reorder points for critical raw materials.
- Ensure proper documentation of quality certificates, test reports, and supplier declarations where applicable.

Logistics Coordination

- Coordinate with transporters for timely movement of raw materials to the plant.
- Track shipments and ensure timely receipt of materials.
- Coordinate with Stores for unloading schedules and Goods Receipt (GRN) completion.

Documentation & Compliance

- Maintain procurement documentation including quotations, comparison statements, purchase orders, contracts, invoices, and supplier records.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, food safety requirements, and applicable statutory regulations.
- Support internal and external audits related to procurement and supplier management.
- Prepare procurement MIS reports and raw material consumption reports.

Qualification

- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Agriculture, Agricultural Engineering, Food Technology, Chemical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Commerce, Business Administration, or a related discipline.

Experience

- 2-5 years of experience in grain procurement,



agricultural commodity purchasing, raw material sourcing, supply chain, or stores.
- Fresh graduates with relevant internship experience in procurement or manufacturing may also be considered.

Technical Skills

- Basic knowledge of grain procurement, commodity markets, and agricultural supply chains.
- Understanding of ethanol production raw materials and fermentation inputs.
- Knowledge of procurement processes, vendor management, and inventory control.
- Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to analyze quotations and basic cost comparisons.
