Chandigarh Life (CHDLIFE) is the Tricity's leading digital media brand, with 500,000+ followers across our social media platforms. Our videos are how Chandigarh, Mohali and Panchkula find out what's happening in their city - food, events, news, lifestyle. We are looking for a Video Editor whose work will be seen by hundreds of thousands of people every week.

What you'll do:

- Edit short-form vertical video (Reels, Shorts, Stories) with the pacing and hooks that make people stop scrolling

- Cut longer features: city guides, restaurant and event coverage, interviews

- Design the graphics that carry the video: on-screen text, captions, title cards, lower thirds and effects

- Create thumbnails and cover frames that earn the click

- Handle colour grading and sound design

- Turn same-day shoots around quickly when the city gives us news

- Manage and organise footage so nothing gets lost

Skills we are looking for:

Editing - We care about the quality of your edit, not which software you own. Be genuinely valuable in whichever you use, whether that is Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve or CapCut. Your sense of rhythm, cut timing and storytelling is what we will judge.

Graphic design - This is essential, not a bonus. You will be writing text onto videos, building thumbnails, and adding effects and motion graphics, so a real eye for type, colour and composition matters. Photoshop,



Illustrator, Canva, After Effects or equivalent.

AI tools - Strong working knowledge of the current AI editing and video stack: AI video generation, auto-captioning and subtitling, background and object removal, upscaling, voice and audio cleanup, and AI-assisted b-roll and thumbnails. We move fast and expect you to use these to move faster.

We also look for:

- 1-3 years of editing experience, ideally for social-first brands

- A showreel or portfolio - this matters more to us than your CV

- A genuine feel for what performs on Instagram and YouTube, and an eye on trends

- Someone who can take a rough brief and come back with something better than what was asked for

- Based in the Tricity or willing to relocate

- Camera knowledge and the ability to shoot video yourself will be an add-on
