MOHAN (an acronym for Multi Organ Harvesting Aid Network) Foundation is a not-for- profit, NGO established in 1997 in Chennai to promote cadaver (brain death) organ donations in the country in the light of growing incidence of end stage organ failure and contrasting shortage of organs. The Foundation has expanded and set up offices in Hyderabad, Bangalore, Mumbai, Nagpur, Chandigarh, Delhi NCR, Jaipur and Manipur.

The objectives of MOHAN Foundation are:

 To Create public education programs on organ donation among a cross section of

population

 Create hospital tie-ups and to motivate families of “brain dead’ patients to donate

organs

 Train professionals (transplant Coordinators) in facilitating organ donation

 Liaise with government to pass favourable legislations

 Network with other organ procuring organizations in the country

The Nagpur office was started in year 2013. Since then, the Nagpur operations have grown,

and we are now looking for a sincere and motivated candidate to apply for the position of

Program Executive – Grief Counsellor cum Transplant Coordinator.

Key Responsibilities –

 Will be placed at a hospital that the Foundation has tied up with and will make daily





ICU rounds and counsel families of “circulatory death” patients to donate eyes and

“brain dead” patients to donate organs.

 Will actively organise awareness talks both within and outside the hospital.

 Will get familiar with ‘The Human Organ Transplant Act 1994’ to ensure all legal

compliances of organ donation

 Will maintain records and report all activities carried out both within and outside the

hospital

 Will build and maintain relationships with hospitals and NGOs to spread the message

of organ donation.

Key skills and aptitude –

 Excellent written and verbal communication skills, both in Hindi and English

 Good presentation skills

 Good Computer skills

 2-4 years of work experience preferably in an NGO or a hospital set-up

 Valuable interpersonal skills are a must

 An ability to work independently
