Vilas Transcore Limited, having a solid presence in Vadodara since 1996, is engaged in the manufacturing of Transformer Radiators, CRGO Products, and Transformer Components. We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Quality Control Engineer to strengthen our Transformer Radiator Manufacturing Division.

Experience2–8 years of relevant experience in Transformer Radiator Manufacturing, Sheet Metal Fabrication, Welding, or Engineering Manufacturing Industry

Job Summary

The Quality Control Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that Transformer Radiators and related components consistently meet company, customer, and applicable quality standards. The role involves stage-wise inspection, dimensional verification, welding and fabrication quality control, leak and pressure testing, final inspection, quality documentation, and coordination with internal departments to resolve quality-related issues.

The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of welding, fabrication, dimensional inspection, measuring instruments, leak/pressure testing, quality documentation, and ISO 9001:2015 quality systems.

Key Responsibilities1. Incoming Material Inspection

- Inspect incoming raw materials including steel sheets, tubes, headers, fasteners, and other components.
- Verify material specifications, dimensions, quantity, and visual condition as per approved standards.
- Check and verify Material Test Certificates (MTCs) and other relevant supplier documents.
- Identify and report non-conforming materials to the concerned department.




- Maintain proper incoming inspection records and reports.

2. Stage-Wise Process Inspection

- Conduct stage-wise quality inspection throughout the manufacturing process.
- Inspect and monitor processes including:
- Shearing and sheet cutting
- Fin forming
- Pressing and fabrication
- Spot welding
- Seam welding
- MIG / CO₂ / TIG / Arc welding
- Assembly
- Surface preparation
- Painting
- Final assembly
- Ensure all manufacturing activities are carried out as per approved drawings, specifications, SOPs, and work instructions.
- Monitor critical process parameters and identify deviations at an early stage.

3. Welding & Fabrication Quality Control

- Inspect weld quality and ensure compliance with applicable welding procedures and standards.
- Monitor seam, spot, MIG, TIG, CO₂, and arc welding operations.
- Ensure adherence to approved Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS).
- Identify welding defects and coordinate with Production for corrective action.
- Support reduction of weld-related rejection, rework, and scrap.

4. Dimensional Inspection

- Check dimensions, tolerances, alignment, fitment, and overall workmanship as per approved drawings and specifications.
- Carry out dimensional inspection at various stages of production.
- Ensure proper use of measuring instruments such as:
- Vernier Caliper




- Micrometer
- Height Gauge
- Measuring Tape
- Pressure Gauge
- Other inspection and measuring instruments
- Ensure all measuring instruments are properly calibrated and controlled.

5. Testing & Final Inspection

- Conduct and witness leak testing and hydraulic/pressure testing as per approved procedures.
- Perform final inspection of finished Transformer Radiators before dispatch.
- Verify dimensions, welding quality, surface finish, painting quality, assembly, and overall workmanship.
- Ensure products meet customer specifications and internal quality requirements before release.
- Prepare final inspection reports and quality clearance documentation.

6. Non-Conformance & Corrective Actions

- Identify, record, and report quality non-conformities.
- Prepare and maintain Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).
- Support Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for recurring quality issues.
- Participate in implementing Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
- Work with Production and other departments to reduce rejection, rework, and customer complaints.
- Monitor the effectiveness of corrective actions and ensure closure of quality issues.

7. Quality Documentation & Records

- Prepare and maintain:
- Inspection Reports
- Quality Checklists
- Quality Logs
- NCR Reports
- Test Reports
- Calibration Records
- Final Inspection Reports
- Ensure all quality records are accurate, complete, and properly maintained.
- Maintain traceability and documentation as per company and customer requirements.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
