Job Summary

ACKD Consult is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer – Revit BIM / MEP to join our engineering consultancy team in Hyderabad.

The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of experience in mechanical building services engineering, with strong expertise in HVAC design, MEP coordination, BIM, and Autodesk Revit/Revit MEP.

Candidates with experience in engineering consultancy, international projects, Saudi Arabia/GCC projects, and knowledge of the Saudi Building Code (SBC) and/or applicable international/American standards will be preferred.

The successful candidate will be responsible for mechanical system design, BIM modelling, multidisciplinary coordination, technical documentation, design reviews, and project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and develop mechanical building services systems for various building projects.
- Prepare detailed HVAC and mechanical engineering designs in accordance with project requirements and applicable standards.
- Develop and maintain accurate BIM models using Autodesk Revit MEP.
- Prepare mechanical layouts, schematics, equipment layouts, schedules, and construction documentation.
- Perform HVAC calculations, including cooling and heating load calculations where applicable.
- Select and size mechanical equipment and systems.
- Design and coordinate HVAC ductwork, piping, equipment, and associated mechanical services.
- Coordinate mechanical systems with architectural, structural, electrical, plumbing, and other MEP disciplines.
- Participate in BIM coordination and clash detection/resolution.
- Review BIM models and drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements.
- Prepare and review mechanical drawings, specifications, calculations, schedules, and technical reports.
- Review contractor/shop drawings, material submittals, technical submissions, and equipment data.
- Identify design conflicts and provide appropriate technical solutions.
- Participate in multidisciplinary design coordination meetings.
- Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, electrical engineers, BIM teams, contractors, and clients.
- Ensure project deliverables meet required quality standards and project schedules.
- Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and BIM team members.
- Support project managers and discipline leads in technical and design-related activities.
- Maintain proper documentation throughout the design and coordination process.

Key Mechanical Engineering Responsibilities

The candidate should have practical knowledge of building mechanical systems, including:

- HVAC systems




- Chilled water systems
- DX systems
- VRF/VRV systems
- Air handling units (AHU)
- Fan coil units (FCU)
- Ventilation systems
- Exhaust systems
- Fresh air systems
- Ductwork design
- Mechanical piping
- Pumps and mechanical equipment
- Equipment schedules
- HVAC layouts
- Mechanical room coordination
- Plant room coordination
- Energy-efficient HVAC solutions

BIM / Revit Responsibilities

- Create and manage detailed mechanical BIM models using Autodesk Revit MEP.
- Develop HVAC systems and mechanical services within Revit.
- Produce coordinated mechanical drawings from BIM models.
- Perform model reviews and quality checks.
- Participate in BIM coordination meetings.
- Identify and resolve clashes with architectural, structural, electrical, plumbing, and other services.
- Work with Navisworks or similar coordination platforms where required.
- Maintain BIM model standards and project-specific requirements.
- Ensure model accuracy and consistency across project stages.
- Support multidisciplinary BIM coordination and design development.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- 10+ years of relevant professional experience.
- Experience in building services / MEP engineering consultancy.
- Strong practical knowledge of HVAC and mechanical building services design.
- Strong proficiency in Autodesk Revit / Revit MEP.
- Good understanding of BIM processes and multidisciplinary coordination.
- Experience preparing and reviewing mechanical engineering drawings and documentation.
- Knowledge of applicable building codes, standards, and project specifications.
- Knowledge of Saudi Building Code (SBC) and/or applicable international/American codes is preferred.

Preferred Experience

Candidates with the following experience will be preferred:

- Saudi Arabia / GCC project experience.
- International building projects.

- Large-scale commercial or mixed-use developments.

- Healthcare projects.
- Residential and high-rise buildings.
- Airport, infrastructure, or institutional projects.
- BIM-based MEP design and coordination.
- Experience working with international clients and consultants.

Building Codes & Standards





Knowledge or experience with the following will be an advantage:

- Saudi Building Code (SBC)
- International Building Code (IBC)
- International mechanical/building services standards
- Project-specific international standards

Candidate Profile
