A Cutting In-Charge in the garment industry is responsible for managing the complete cutting department, from receiving fabric to issuing accurately cut garment panels to the sewing department.

Key Job Responsibilities

- Cutting Planning
- Plan daily cutting activities according to the production schedule.
- Prepare cutting plans based on order quantity, fabric availability, and delivery requirements.
- Coordinate with PPC, merchandising, stores, and production departments.
- Fabric Management
- Check fabric availability and ensure the correct fabric is issued for each order.
- Verify fabric width, shade, GSM, defects, and shrinkage before cutting.
- Ensure proper fabric relaxation before cutting.
- Minimize fabric wastage and control marker efficiency.
- Marker & Spreading
- Check markers for correct size ratio, style, and fabric width.
- Supervise fabric spreading according to the approved marker.
- Ensure proper alignment, tension, ply height, and shade grouping.
- Maintain accurate spreading and lay records.
- Cutting Operations
- Supervise cutting according to approved patterns and markers.
- Ensure correct cutting of all sizes and garment components.
- Check cutting accuracy and avoid notches, drill marks, and panel defects.
- Ensure cutting machines are operated safely and efficiently.
- Quality Control
- Conduct first-piece and random checks after cutting.
- Ensure cut panels match the approved pattern and specifications.
- Identify and correct cutting defects immediately.
- Maintain shade-wise and size-wise segregation.
- Bundling & Numbering
- Ensure cut components are numbered and bundled correctly.
- Prevent mixing of different sizes, shades, lots, or garment components.
- Prepare bundles according to sewing-line requirements.
- Ensure cut bundles are transferred to the sewing department on time.




- Manpower Management
- Allocate workers to spreading, cutting, numbering, bundling, and checking operations.
- Monitor worker productivity and attendance.
- Train operators in proper cutting methods and safety procedures.
- Maintain discipline and efficient workflow in the cutting section.
- Wastage Control
- Monitor fabric consumption and cutting wastage.
- Improve marker utilization and spreading methods.
- Investigate excessive fabric wastage and take corrective action.
- Maintain records of fabric utilization.
- Machine & Maintenance Coordination
- Ensure cutting machines and equipment are in valuable working condition.
- Report machine problems to the maintenance department.
- Ensure knives, blades, drills, tables, and other equipment are properly maintained.
- Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain cutting reports, lay reports, fabric consumption records, and bundle records.
- Report daily cutting quantity and production status to management/PPC.
- Track pending cutting quantities and ensure timely completion.
- Maintain records for traceability and audits.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
