Social Studies Teacher – Job Description

Key Responsibilities

- Plan and deliver engaging Social Studies lessons aligned with the school curriculum.
- Teach concepts related to History, Geography, Civics, Economics, and Social Sciences as applicable to the grade level.
- Develop lesson plans, worksheets, assessments, projects, and other learning resources.
- Use innovative and interactive teaching methodologies to enhance student participation.
- Encourage students to develop critical thinking, analytical skills, and informed perspectives.
- Assess student learning through tests, assignments, projects, presentations, and classroom activities.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, academic performance, and progress.
- Provide constructive feedback and additional academic support to students where required.
- Integrate current affairs, real-world examples, and relevant historical and geographical contexts into lessons.
- Maintain a positive, inclusive, and well-disciplined classroom environment.
- Collaborate with colleagues to support interdisciplinary learning and school academic initiatives.




- Communicate effectively with parents regarding students' academic progress and areas for improvement.
- Participate in PTMs, school events, workshops, training programmes, and other assigned responsibilities.
- Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement of teaching practices.

Required Qualifications

- Master's degree in Social Studies, History, Geography, Political Science, Economics, or a related field.
- B.Ed. or equivalent teaching qualification is preferred/required as applicable.
- Relevant teaching experience in a school setting.
- Strong subject knowledge and excellent communication skills.
- Good classroom management and student engagement skills.
- Ability to use technology and digital resources effectively in teaching.

Experience

2–5 years of relevant teaching experience preferred, depending on the grade level and curriculum.

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
