Job Purpose

To lead electrical design and cost-estimation activities for industrial battery chargers, LV panels, HT panels and outdoor electrical cabinets, while providing technical support to customers, sales and project teams.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead design and engineering activities for industrial electrical equipment including:
- Industrial battery chargers
- LV panels
- HT panels
- Outdoor electrical cabinets
- DCDBs and DC power systems
- Prepare and review SLDs, control schematics, wiring diagrams, GA drawings and panel layouts.
- Prepare detailed BOMs and component specifications.
- Undertake complete technical and commercial cost estimation.
- Study customer specifications, tender documents and project requirements.
- Select appropriate components, makes and ratings.
- Review supplier quotations and negotiate technically with vendors.
- Prepare techno-commercial offers and support the Sales team during tendering.
- Review technical requirements and identify deviations/clarifications.
- Coordinate with customers, consultants, vendors, Production, Purchase and Quality teams.
- Review and approve engineering drawings before release for production.
- Provide technical support during manufacturing, testing, FAT and commissioning.
- Mentor and guide junior design/estimation engineers.
- Identify opportunities for design standardization and cost reduction.
- Ensure compliance with applicable IEC/IS standards and customer specifications.

Desired Technical Skills

- Strong knowledge of electrical design and industrial electrical systems.
- Good understanding of industrial battery chargers, battery banks and DCDBs.
- Strong knowledge of LV and HT switchgear and protection systems.
- Knowledge of control circuits, AC/DC distribution and electrical protection.
- Ability to independently prepare and review SLDs, schematics, GA drawings and BOMs.




- Strong estimation and costing capabilities.
- Positive knowledge of electrical component selection and vendor makes.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Excel.
- Experience with ERP systems will be an advantage.

Desired Candidate Profile

- B.E./B.Tech in Electrical / Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
- 5–6 years of relevant experience.
- Experience in battery chargers, electrical panels, switchgear, DC systems or industrial electrical equipment strongly preferred.
- Should be capable of handling projects independently from enquiry through engineering and production.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Good leadership and team-management capabilities.
- Strong communication and customer-facing skills.

- Assist senior engineers in electrical design and engineering activities.
- Learn and prepare:

- Wiring diagrams

- Assist in design activities for industrial battery chargers, LV panels, HT panels and outdoor cabinets.
- Assist in preparation of cost estimates and quotations.
- Study customer specifications, drawings and technical requirements.
- Assist in electrical component selection and sizing.
- Obtain and compare vendor prices under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Learn preparation of technical compliance statements and BOMs.
- Coordinate with Production, Purchase, Quality and Sales teams.
- Maintain engineering documents and records.
- Support testing and inspection activities.
