JOB DESCRIPTION – NIGHT MEDICAL OFFICER

Position: Night Medical Officer (NMO)

Job Summary

We are looking for a responsible and experienced Night Medical Officer to provide medical care and supervision during night hours. The Medical Officer will attend to inpatients, manage medical emergencies, monitor patient conditions, coordinate with consultants, and ensure continuity of patient care throughout the night.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide medical assessment and treatment to inpatients during the night shift.
- Attend to emergency and urgent medical situations promptly.
- Monitor vital signs and overall clinical condition of patients.
- Evaluate and manage patients with acute complaints during the night.
- Review and respond to abnormal investigation reports and clinical findings.
- Administer medications and treatments as per prescribed orders and hospital protocols.
- Coordinate with consultants/specialists whenever required.
- Handle medical emergencies and initiate appropriate emergency management.
- Coordinate with nursing staff regarding patient care and treatment plans.
- Maintain accurate clinical notes, treatment records, and handover documentation.
- Review new admissions and ensure appropriate initial medical assessment.
- Monitor patients after procedures or treatments and identify any deterioration.




- Communicate significant clinical updates to the concerned consultant and morning team.
- Ensure proper shift handover to the incoming medical team.
- Follow hospital policies, infection-control protocols, and patient-safety standards.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
- Perform other clinical duties assigned by hospital management.

Required Qualifications & Skills

- MBBS degree from a recognized medical institution.
- Valid registration with the applicable State Medical Council / National Medical Commission as required.
- Minimum 1+ year of clinical/hospital experience preferred.
- Good knowledge of emergency and acute patient management.
- Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently during night shifts.
- Good coordination with consultants and nursing staff.
- Basic computer knowledge and ability to maintain electronic/physical medical records.
- Professional, responsible, and patient-focused approach.

Preferred Experience

- Experience in hospital inpatient services will be preferred.
- Experience in oncology/cancer care will be an advantage.
- Experience in handling medical emergencies and critical patient situations.
- Candidates comfortable with rotational/night duty will be preferred.

Working Hours

Night Shift – As per Hospital Duty Roster

Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
