Role & Responsibilities

- Perform a wide range of elective and emergency general surgeries including hernia repair, appendectomy, cholecystectomy, and GI procedures.
- Lead pre-op evaluations, surgical planning, intra-op decision-making, and post-op recovery management for adult and pediatric patients.
- Collaborate with anesthesiologists, nurses, and ICU teams to ensure seamless perioperative care and reduce complications.
- Document surgical outcomes, maintain accurate patient records, and contribute to departmental quality improvement initiatives.
- Train junior surgeons and medical officers; mentor residents during rotations and provide clinical supervision.
- Adhere to national and international surgical guidelines, infection control protocols,



and patient safety standards.

Skills & Qualifications

- Must-Have
- MBBS + DNB/MS General Surgery from a recognized medical board (NBE/MCI/NMC)
- Active registration with State Medical Council
- 5+ years of post-qualification experience in general surgery
- Proven experience in laparoscopic and open surgical procedures
- ACLs certification or equivalent advanced life support training
- Experience managing surgical emergencies and trauma cases
- Strong knowledge of surgical protocols, sterilization, and operating room safety
- Fluency in English and one local Indian language for patient communication

- Preferred
- Fellowship in Surgical Oncology, Trauma Surgery, or Minimal Access Surgery
- Experience in rural/semi-urban hospital setups
- Publications or participation in surgical quality audits
