Supporting Actions
- Planning
- Giving input for formulation of strategies for long term and short-term contracts for electrical, equipment and services in line with annual budget.
- Preparing Purchase Plan and Budget by interacting with the process owners and decision makers for planned consumption of consumable items & equipment.
- Giving inputs for formulating strategies for negotiation with both national and international bidders.
- Foreseeing seasonal events to identify market factors which may impact availability and/ or cost of materials and services and developing mitigation plans.
- Operational Excellence
- Arranging timely procurement and supply of all electrical items including spares, consumables and ROL of specified quantity and quality at an optimum price to achieve budgeted production targets.
- Implementing SOPs for shutdown, inbound logistics, inventory management
- Implementing Delegation of Authority (DOA) in the entire process chain for materials from purchase requisition up to approvals.




- Monitoring and taking proactive actions for ensuring timely availability of automation equipment, spares, consumable items, manpower and services required for operations and shutdowns
- Implementing Just in time (JIT) supply for automation items
- Arranging for timely receipt of automation & IT items including consumables and spares
- Implementing maintenance of inventory level for all critical items and partnering corrective action in case of deviation.
- Budgetary Controls
- Driving cost-effective purchasing through value engineering, benchmarking with other Units
- Monitoring the actual vis-à-vis budget for all major procurement and highlighting the same to senior management
- Carrying out periodic reconciliation of electrical items
- Coordinating with interdepartmental teams for budgetary control of the expenditure against all OPEX budgets with respect to electrical items.
