The role

Ajmal Perfumes is looking for a Creative Epicure. The title is unusual because the job is unusual. This is not a role about making one beautiful film. It is a role about making sure that everything we release, at the volume and the speed that performance marketing now demands, still looks like us and still looks premium.

Fragrance has become a video first category and the work is getting results. It has also converged, and a excellent deal of it is now difficult to tell apart. Ajmal is a premium house and intends to remain one, which means our work should be ours on sight. Building the system that makes that possible, and holding it steady while output scales, is the job.

What you will own
- The video template system for the brand, built so that what has to stay constant stays constant and what should vary is free to vary.
- The way the brand sounds and reads on screen, authored in Hindi and in English rather than written in one and translated into the other.




- The craft standard across a portfolio that runs across several price points and several audiences.
- How we work with creators, and how their work is directed so that it carries us rather than absorbs us.
- The recurring craft decisions that make our films identifiable as ours.
- The argument for all of the above at the moments when the calendar pushes back against it.

The core of the job

These four are the reason the role exists. A good deal else is negotiable and these are not.
- You can build templates. You understand that volume and speed are hygiene in this category, and that neither is an acceptable reason for quality to fall.
- You can express brand personality and visual identity strongly enough that the work stands apart in a crowded category and is recognisable before the logo appears.
