Purpose of the role

The Project Manager will take end-to-end ownership of assigned industrial EPC and air pollution control projects from order handover through engineering, procurement, manufacturing, dispatch, erection, commissioning, commercial closure and final handover. The position is accountable for schedule, cost, quality, contractual compliance, customer communication and coordination across all internal and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

- Act as the single-point owner for assigned domestic and international projects, normally valued at INR 10 crore to INR 50 crore or above.
- Review the contract, technical scope, commercial terms, exclusions, milestones, liquidated damages, bank guarantees, payment terms and project risks at order handover.
- Prepare and maintain the baseline schedule, detailed activity plan, cash-flow and billing plan, procurement plan, manufacturing plan and recovery schedule whenever delays arise.
- Coordinate drawings and approvals, procurement, vendor documentation, manufacturing, fabrication, inspection, packing, dispatch, erection, commissioning and performance testing.
- Conduct structured weekly project reviews and maintain action, risk, drawing, procurement, manufacturing, dispatch, site, billing and change-order trackers.
- Identify critical-path delays, assign owners and due dates, escalate unresolved constraints and drive practical corrective action across departments.
- Manage client meetings and correspondence, including progress reporting, delay notifications, extension-of-time requests, scope changes, variation orders and claim-support documentation.




- Monitor project budget versus actual cost and control avoidable rework, expediting, freight, site and delay costs.
- Ensure timely submission, certification and recovery of invoices, retention, variation claims and other project receivables in coordination with Commercial and Finance.
- Lead site execution, commissioning, punch-point closure, documentation, training and final handover while ensuring compliance with quality and safety requirements.
- Provide concise and accurate management reports on schedule, cost, billing, cash collection, risks, decisions required and forecast completion.

Authority and working relationships

The Project Manager may convene project reviews, obtain committed action dates, recommend project priorities and escalate cross-functional delays. Functional departments retain technical and administrative control of their teams, while the Project Manager owns integration and delivery of the complete project.

Mandatory qualifications and experience

- BE or BTech in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution.
- 12 to 18 years of relevant industrial experience, including at least 5 years independently managing EPC or large industrial projects.
- Demonstrated responsibility across engineering, procurement, manufacturing or fabrication, site erection, commissioning and handover.
- Experience managing customer-facing responsibilities, project schedules, risks, contractual correspondence and commercial milestones.
- Ability to read and understand general arrangement drawings, technical specifications, manufacturing documents and site plans.
- Working knowledge of MS Project or Primavera, Excel-based project controls, document tracking and ERP systems.
- Solid written and spoken communication, negotiation, problem-solving and stakeholder-management skills.
- Readiness for frequent domestic travel and international travel when required.
