Overview We are looking for a hands-on Tool Engineering professional with 5-7 years of experience in tool design, tool machining, tool wear management, and tool-life improvement. The role will focus on diagnosing tooling-related losses, improving roll/tool life, optimising machining practices, and driving measurable improvements in productivity, quality, and tooling costs.

Responsibilities

- Conduct shop-floor diagnostics of tooling systems and tool-dependent manufacturing processes.
- Manage the complete tooling cycle, including tool design, machining, finishing, installation, inspection, reconditioning, and replacement.
- Identify root causes of accelerated tool wear and implement tool-life improvement initiatives.
- Improve tool design, geometry, machining accuracy, profile quality, and tooling performance.
- Optimise machining processes to reduce machining time, rework, and tool-processing losses.
- Work on tooling applications across steel wire, long products, rolling, drawing, forming, sizing, or similar operations.
- Lead structured Root Cause Analysis, FMEA, 5-Why, Pareto, and Fishbone exercises.

Requirements

- 5-7 years of hands-on experience in Tool Engineering,



Tool Room, Tooling, Machining, or Manufacturing Engineering.
- Strong preference for candidates from the Steel Industry, particularly steel wire, long products, rolling, drawing, forming, or sizing.
- Hands-on experience in Tool Design, Tool Machining, Profile Machining, and/or Tool Wear & Tool-Life Improvement is mandatory.
- B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, Manufacturing, Metallurgy, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline preferred.
- Strong knowledge of tool geometry, tool wear analysis, tool materials, machining, profile inspection, reconditioning, and process optimisation.
- Exposure to Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, OEE, CAD/engineering drawings, and Advanced Excel.

Important: Candidates whose experience is primarily limited to tool procurement, vendor management, inventory, documentation, or routine inspection without hands-on tool engineering and shop-floor improvement experience will not be prioritised.
