We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Senior Database Administrator to manage, maintain, and support business-critical database environments across production and non-production systems. The role requires strong expertise in Microsoft SQL Server and PostgreSQL, with a focus on database availability, performance, security, backup and recovery, and high-availability and disaster-recovery operations.

The ideal candidate will be capable of independently troubleshooting complex database issues, supporting critical production environments, and working closely with application, infrastructure, and engineering teams to ensure reliable database operations.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain Microsoft SQL Server and PostgreSQL databases across production and non-production environments.
- Perform SQL Server installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, and ongoing maintenance.




- Monitor database health, performance, availability, resource utilisation, and capacity.
- Diagnose and resolve complex database issues involving slow queries, blocking, deadlocks, replication, connectivity, and database failures.
- Perform database performance tuning and query optimization using execution plans, DMVs, Query Store, wait statistics, and other diagnostic tools.
- Develop and maintain T-SQL scripts and database administration utilities.
- Manage database backup, recovery, restore, and point-in-time recovery processes.
- Regularly validate backup integrity and restore readiness to support business continuity.
- Support Always On Availability Groups, high availability, disaster recovery, replication, and failoverenvironments.
- Participate in planned failover activities and disaster-recovery exercises.
- Implement and maintain database monitoring, alerting, and capacity-management proces
