Job Summary

Our Restoration & Renewal practice investigates existing buildings envelope problems and provides evidence-based solutions. We access the exterior building envelope to perform observations utilizing the boom lift and suspended scaffold access. We prepare drawings and specifications for the required roof and fa ade repairs and provide technical support during the bid and construction phases, with frequent site visits to review the quality of work and conformance with contract documents, as well as special inspections. We assist property managers, building owners, and design professionals with a wide range of engineering and architectural issues. The majority of our projects involve historic buildings and structures, but we also assist with contemporary buildings.

Your Role

As an Architect in our Restoration & Renewal Practice, you will support the evaluation and rehabilitation of existing buildings and building envelope systems. Working alongside architects and engineers, you will help identify deficiencies, develop repair solutions, and prepare technical documentation for renovation, adaptive reuse, and historic preservation projects. This role offers the chance to build technical expertise in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.

What You ll Do

- Assist in evaluating building envelopes, interiors, and architectural systems,



including historic materials and assemblies.
- Support assessments of system performance, code compliance, and feasibility of renovation.
- Support the preparation of condition assessment reports, repair drawings, specifications, and construction documents for existing buildings.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop practical and constructible solutions.

What You ll Bring

- Bachelor s degree in Architecture; Master s degree preferred.
- Experience with Revit, AutoCAD, or architectural detailing tools is a plus, but not required.
- Familiarity with building envelopes and architectural system design principles.
- Strong communication skills, a collaborative mindset, and eagerness to learn.
- Ability to work effectively in a remote, geographically distributed team environment.
- A detail-oriented approach and the ability to apply architectural concepts carefully, with sensitivity to historic contexts.
