PLS-CADD Developer / Transmission Line Design Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled PLS-CADD Developer to support the engineering,

modeling, analysis, and design of overhead transmission and distribution lines. The

candidate will be responsible for developing accurate PLS-CADD models,

performing line design calculations, generating construction deliverables, and

supporting automation initiatives within transmission line engineering workflows.

Key Responsibilities

Transmission Line Design

• Develop and maintain overhead transmission line models using PLS-CADD.

• Perform line routing, structure spotting, and profile development.

• Conduct sag-tension analysis and clearance verification.

• Generate transmission line plan and profile drawings.

• Perform conductor and shield wire design calculations.

• Validate compliance with NESC, ASCE, IEEE, and client-specific standards.

• Coordinate with survey, geotechnical, structural, and foundation engineering

Engineering Analysis

• Analyze terrain, environmental, and right-of-way constraints.

• Evaluate transmission line clearances and loading conditions.

• Support tower, pole, and foundation design integration.

• Prepare material quantity estimates and construction documentation.

Software Development & Automation

• Develop automation tools using:

- Python
- VBA
- AutoLISP

• Create scripts for:

• Integrate LiDAR, GIS, and CAD datasets into transmission line workflows.

Required Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's Degree in:

- Electrical Engineering
- Civil Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Structural Engineering

Experience

• 3 to 10+ years of experience in transmission line engineering.

• Hands-on experience with:

- PLS-CADD
- PLS-POLE
- PLS-TOWER

• Experience on transmission line projects ranging from 69kV to 765kV
