Job Title: Accountant

Work Location: Malabar Hill, Mumbai *** Please consider commuting time ***

Work schedule: Full Time, Tuesday-Saturday, flexible schedule.

Salary: Rs 30,000/month

Role Overview: Primary responsibility for all accounting activities, including day-to-day functioning, of a private school.

Key Responsibilities:

* Oversee student billing, collect tuition fees, issue receipts, and follow-up on outstanding balances.

* Maintaining books of accounts in Tally Prime.

* Preparing and maintaining records of invoices.

* Recording all transactions and preparing accounts payable, accounts receivable and journal vouchers.

* Handling petty cash, processing checks and e-payments of TDS, Provident Fund and Profession Tax.

* Payroll processing, including computation of income tax on salary for staff.

* Reconciliation of bank statements by comparing with general ledgers.





* Liaising with the auditors for statutory audit.

* Maintain accurate daily ledgers and preparing monthly expenditure statements.

* Preparing trial balance, balance sheet, and profit & loss statement.

Qualifications & Skills

* Education: Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.

* Experience: 2-3 years of experience in an accounting role.

* Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (Tally) and office tools (MS Excel, Word).

* Soft Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to interact warmly and professionally.

* Attributes: Strong organizational skills, high integrity, and the ability to multitask in a vibrant environment.
