Department: Labour Room / Obstetrics & Gynaecology
Job Responsibilities
Provide nursing care to antenatal, intranatal and postnatal mothers.
Assist doctors during normal deliveries and caesarean sections.
Monitor maternal vital signs and fetal heart rate.
Prepare the labour room, equipment and delivery instruments.
Assist in labour monitoring and maintain accurate nursing records.
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the doctor.
Assist in emergency obstetric procedures when required.
Provide immediate care to newborns and assist with neonatal resuscitation.
Maintain infection control and follow hospital protocols.
Ensure proper documentation and handover of patient care.
Provide emotional support and guidance to mothers and their families.
Maintain cleanliness, safety and readiness of the labour room.
Qualifications
GNM / BSc Nursing
KNMC registration
Minimum 1 year Labour room experience required
