Role & responsibilities

An OT Nurse is responsible for providing nursing care to patients before, during, and after surgical procedures. The role includes maintaining OT sterility, assisting surgeons and anesthetists, preparing instruments and equipment, and ensuring patient safety throughout the surgical process.

Key Responsibilities:
Prepare operation theatre for surgical procedures.
Ensure all surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies are sterilized and available.
Assist surgeons, anesthetists, and surgical team during operations.
Monitor patient condition before, during, and after surgery.
Maintain strict aseptic and infection control protocols.
Handle surgical instruments and maintain OT inventory.
Prepare patients for surgery and provide post-operative care support.
Maintain accurate patient records and OT documentation.
Coordinate with CSSD,



ICU, wards, and other departments.
Ensure proper biomedical waste management and OT cleanliness.
Respond effectively during emergency procedures.

Preferred candidate profile
GNM / B.Sc Nursing / Post Basic B.Sc Nursing
Valid Nursing Registration Certificate

Preferred Areas Exposure:
General OT
Orthopaedic OT
Neuro OT
Cardiac OT
Gynaecology OT
Emergency OT

Required Skills:
Knowledge of OT protocols and sterile techniques
Valuable communication and teamwork skills
Ability to work in rotational shifts
Basic knowledge of surgical instruments and procedures
Quick decision-making and patient handling skills
