About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Finance Manager to lead the finance function of a well-established FMCG/manufacturing business based in Tanzania.

The Finance Manager will be responsible for overseeing financial controls, costing, budgeting, MIS, working capital management and overall financial planning, while working closely with business and operational teams.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and manage the overall finance and accounting function.
- Ensure strong financial controls, accounting processes and compliance.
- Drive product costing, cost analysis and variance analysis.
- Prepare and manage annual budgets, forecasts and financial plans.
- Develop timely and accurate MIS and management reports.
- Monitor and manage working capital, including receivables, payables, inventory and cash flows.
- Work closely with manufacturing and operational teams to improve cost efficiency and profitability.
- Monitor plant/manufacturing costs and identify opportunities for cost optimization.
- Manage monthly and year-end financial closing and reporting.
- Coordinate internal and external audits and ensure timely resolution of audit observations.
- Provide financial analysis and insights to senior management.
- Lead, mentor and develop the finance team.
- Ensure effective utilization of ERP systems and accuracy of financial data.
- Maintain a hands-on approach to day-to-day finance operations.

SAP Business One Requirement

Hands-on SAP Business One (SAP B1)



implementation experience is essential.

The candidate should have personally participated in or led activities such as:

- SAP B1 implementation and rollout
- Finance module configuration
- Process mapping and requirement gathering
- Data migration and validation
- User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
- User training
- Go-live and post-implementation support
- Integration of finance with inventory, costing and other business functions

Candidates with only end-user experience in SAP B1, without implementation exposure, may not be suitable.

Candidate Profile

- Qualification: CA / CMA / ICWA or equivalent professional qualification.
- Approximately 12 years of relevant finance experience.
- Strong preference for candidates from FMCG, manufacturing, food & beverage, bottling or process-manufacturing industries.
- Strong plant/manufacturing finance experience is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of financial controls, costing, budgeting, MIS and working capital management.
- Proven experience in SAP Business One implementation.
- Strong leadership and people-management capabilities.
- Comfortable working in a hands-on and operational environment.
- Solid analytical, commercial and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management abilities.
- Previous Africa/international experience would be an advantage.

Experience

The ideal candidate should have approximately 12–18 years of experience, with significant exposure to manufacturing/FMCG finance and experience managing finance operations in a hands-on business environment.
