Job Title: Sewing Trainee

Job Purpose

To undergo practical training in garment sewing operations and develop the skills required to operate industrial sewing machines while maintaining quality, productivity, safety, and housekeeping standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Learn and operate different types of industrial sewing machines under supervision.
2. Learn basic sewing operations and garment construction methods.
3. Perform assigned stitching operations as per work instructions and approved samples.
4. Follow the instructions given by the Sewing Supervisor/Trainer.
5. Maintain required stitching quality and minimize sewing defects.
6. Check stitched components for defects such as loose stitches, uneven stitching, skipped stitches, and open seams.
7. Handle fabric, trims, and garment components carefully to avoid damage and wastage.
8. Maintain cleanliness and 5S standards at the workstation.
9. Follow all safety procedures and company rules while operating machines.
10. Report machine problems, material issues, or quality defects to the supervisor.
11. Achieve the required training, skill-development, and productivity targets.

Support the sewing team in maintaining smooth production flow.
13. Attend all required training and continuously improve sewing speed, accuracy, and efficiency.

Eligibility & Qualifications
- Education: Minimum 8th / 10th / 12th standard, as per company requirement.
- Experience: Freshers can apply; prior sewing/tailoring experience is an added advantage.
- Basic knowledge of garment production is preferred.
- Willingness to learn sewing machine operations.
- Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
- Good discipline and willingness to work in a production workplace.

Training & Career Growth

The trainee will receive on-the-job training in sewing machine operation, garment construction, quality standards, production procedures, and workplace safety. Based on skill development and performance, the trainee may progress to Sewing Operator and subsequently to higher production roles.
