Job title: Cyber Security Intern – SOC

Location: Bengaluru

About the Role: We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented
Cybersecurity Intern to join our Security Operations Center (SOC). This is an
excellent opportunity for students or recent graduates to gain hands-on
experience in real-world threat monitoring, incident response, and security
analysis under the guidance of seasoned cybersecurity professionals. You will
be reporting to SOC manager, in Cyber Defence Team.

The Cyber Defence team works closely with Security Engineering, IT, and
Infrastructure teams to improve detection capabilities, enhance response
efficiency, and support resilience against evolving threats.

Key Responsibilities:





• Monitor security alerts and events using SIEM tools

• Review SIEM rules and security events

• Triage and investigate security incidents, distinguishing true positives
from false positives

• Perform log analysis across endpoints, network devices, and cloud
environments

• Assist in threat hunting activities to proactively identify indicators of
compromise (IoCs)

• Document incident timelines, findings, and escalation steps in ticketing
systems

• Support vulnerability detection and assist in patch prioritisation efforts

• Contribute to SOC playbook and runbook updates based on observed attack
patterns

• Collaborate with Tier 2/3 analysts during escalated incident investigations

• Assist in Detection Engineering by applying threat Intelligence

• Leverage SOAR and XDR platforms for alert enrichment, case automation, and
faster triage.

Required Qualifications

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, IT,
Cybersecurity, or a related field

• Foundational understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S,
firewalls, VPNs)

• Basic knowledge of operating systems: Windows Event Logs, Linux CLI, and
Active Directory

• Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK; or the Cyber
Kill Chain





• Strong analytical thinking and ability to work under pressure in a
fast-paced environment

Preferred Skills

· Hands-on exposure to SIEM platforms, IDS/IPS tools, or EDR solutions

· Scripting knowledge in Python, PowerShell, or Bash for log parsing and
automation

· Certifications (partial or completed): CompTIA Security+, CEH, SOC Analyst
(CSA+), or TryHackMe/HTB profiles

· Experience with packet analysis tools such as Wireshark

· Exposure to cloud security concepts (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus

· Good grasp of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, SMTP) and log analysis.
