Job Description:

We are looking for an Assistant Fitter to support the Project & Engineering team in installation, fabrication, maintenance, alignment, and repair of mechanical equipment and structures in a ferro/steel plant. The candidate will work under the supervision of senior fitters, supervisors, and engineers.

- Assist senior fitters in mechanical installation and maintenance activities.
- Support installation of machines, pipelines, structures, conveyors and equipment.
- Assist in fabrication, erection and assembly work.
- Perform basic fitting, cutting, drilling, grinding and finishing activities.
- Assist with machine alignment, leveling and positioning.
- Support maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment.
- Assist in installation and maintenance of conveyors,



pumps, gearboxes, crushers, fans, ducts and other plant equipment.
- Read and understand basic mechanical drawings and measurements.
- Use hand tools and basic mechanical tools safely.
- Assist in dismantling and reassembly of equipment during maintenance/shutdown.
- Support the Project Engineer/Fitter in site erection and commissioning activities.
- Maintain proper tools and equipment at the work site.
- Follow SOPs, safety procedures and PPE requirements.
