JOB SUMMARY:

We are looking for an experienced VMC Setter to set up and operate Vertical Machining Centre (VMC) machines for precision component manufacturing. The role involves job setting, tool setting, CNC program corrections, dimensional inspection, and maintaining production quality and productivity.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Set up VMC machines for different components as per production requirements.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and work instructions.
- Select and install cutting tools, holders, fixtures, and work-holding devices.
- Load and make necessary corrections to CNC programs.
- Set work offsets, tool offsets, tool length compensation, wear offsets, and machining parameters.
- Perform job setting, tool setting, and component alignment.
- Conduct first-piece inspection and maintain dimensional accuracy.
- Operate and monitor VMC machines during production.
- Identify and rectify machining issues such as tool wear, dimensional variation, burrs, chatter, and poor surface finish.




- Use Vernier Caliper, Micrometer, Height Gauge, Bore Gauge, and other measuring instruments.
- Monitor tool life and replace worn or damaged tools.
- Coordinate with Quality, Production, Tool Room, and Maintenance teams.
- Maintain production output according to daily/shift targets.
- Follow 5S, housekeeping, safety, and PPE requirements.

REQUIREMENTS:

- 3–8 years of relevant VMC/CNC machining experience.
- Good knowledge of VMC machine setting and operation.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of tool setting, work offsets, tool offsets, and component alignment.
- Basic knowledge of CNC programming and G-code/M-code.
- Knowledge of cutting tools and machining parameters.
- Good knowledge of precision measuring instruments.
- Ability to troubleshoot machining and quality issues.
- Experience with Fanuc, Mitsubishi, Siemens, or similar controls is preferred.
- Knowledge of GD&T; and dimensional tolerances is preferred.
