Student Admission Counsellor – Trivandrum
Position: Admission Counsellor
Location: Thiruvananthapuram Vazhuthacaud , Kerala
Department: Admissions / Student Relations
Industry: Aviation & Education
Employment Type: Full-Time
Reporting To: Centre Head / BDM / GM
Job Summary
We are looking for a motivated and result-oriented Admission Counsellor to join our Thiruvananthapuram Centre. The candidate will be responsible for counselling prospective students and parents, understanding their career interests, explaining suitable courses, generating admissions, and maintaining strong follow-up with leads.
The ideal candidate should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to achieve admission targets.
Key Responsibilities
1. Student Counselling
- Counsel students and parents regarding aviation, travel, tourism, logistics, and related courses.
- Understand students' educational background, career interests, and requirements.
- Provide accurate information regarding course structure, duration, eligibility, fees, career opportunities, and placement support.
- Help students select suitable courses based on their interests and career goals.
- Conduct counselling through walk-ins, telephone calls, WhatsApp, and other communication channels.
2. Lead Management & Follow-Up
- Handle enquiries and leads generated through digital marketing, walk-ins, references, campaigns, and other sources.
- Make regular follow-up calls and maintain proper records of all prospects.
- Convert enquiries into counselling appointments and admissions.
- Follow up with students until the admission process is completed.
- Maintain an updated lead and follow-up database.
3. Admission & Target Achievement
- Achieve monthly and annual admission targets assigned by management.
- Convert prospective students into confirmed admissions through effective counselling and follow-up.
- Coordinate with the Centre Head and concerned departments regarding admission-related activities.
- Ensure all admission forms and supporting documents are properly completed and submitted.
- Monitor pending admissions, fee payments, and documentation.
4. Student & Parent Relationship
- Maintain professional and positive relationships with students and parents.
- Respond promptly to enquiries and provide accurate information.
- Address basic concerns raised by prospective students and escalate issues to the Centre Head when required.
- Maintain a professional image of the institution during all interactions.
5. Marketing & Promotion Support
- Participate in education fairs, school/college visits, seminars, career guidance programmes, and promotional activities.
- Support the centre's admission campaigns and local marketing activities.
- Generate enquiries through referrals and other approved sources.
- Coordinate with the marketing team for lead generation and follow-up activities.
6. Reporting & Documentation
- Submit daily/weekly admission and follow-up reports to the Centre Head.
- Maintain accurate records of leads, calls, appointments, walk-ins, conversions, and admissions.
- Update CRM/lead management systems or designated admission registers regularly.
- Report challenges affecting admission conversions to the Centre Head.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in any discipline preferred.
- Candidates with experience in education counselling, admissions, sales, tele-calling, customer service, or similar roles will be preferred.
- Freshers with excellent communication and convincing skills may also be considered.
Required Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong counselling and convincing abilities.
- Positive interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Target-oriented and self-motivated approach.
- Good follow-up and lead-management skills.
- Basic computer knowledge and proficiency in MS Office.
- Ability to communicate professionally through phone, WhatsApp, and email.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Malayalam and English communication skills are essential; Hindi or other languages will be an added advantage.
Preferred Experience
Experience: 1–5+ years in admissions, educational counselling, sales, tele-calling, or customer relationship management is preferred.
Working Conditions
- Full-time position at Vision School of Aviation, Trivandrum Centre.
- The role may require participation in admission campaigns, seminars, education fairs, school/college visits, and other promotional activities.
- Working hours and weekly holidays will be as per the company's policies and management instructions.
