Job Title: Staff Nurse

Location: Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu

Reports To: Nursing Superintendent / Ward In-Charge / Duty Medical Officer

Job Summary

The Staff Nurse provides direct, compassionate patient care across inpatient, outpatient, emergency, or intensive care units.

Key Responsibilities1. Patient Care & Clinical Duties

- Assessment & Monitoring: Record vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, oxygen saturation) and continuously monitor patient health status; promptly report critical changes to attending doctors.
- Medication Administration: Safely prepare and administer oral, IV, IM, and subcutaneous medications, fluids, and blood products as prescribed by doctors.
- Treatment Execution: Perform wound dressings, catheterizations, IV cannulation, tube feedings, and nebulizations following standard clinical protocols.
- Assisting Doctors: Assist physicians during daily ward rounds, diagnostic procedures, minor surgical treatments, and emergency resuscitations.

3. Infection Control & Hospital Safety

- Waste Management: Strictly follow Bio-Medical Waste (BMW) management guidelines for safe disposal of sharps, bio-hazards, and general waste.
- Hygiene & Sterilization: Maintain hand hygiene standards, aseptic techniques,



and assist in sanitizing ward areas and sterilization of surgical equipment.

Required Qualifications & Experience

- Education: B.Sc. Nursing or Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) from an INC (Indian Nursing Council) recognized institution.
- Council Registration: Active, mandatory registration with the Tamil Nadu Nurses and Midwives Council (TNNMC).
- Experience: 0 to 5 years of nursing experience in a general or multi-specialty hospital (Freshers are eligible for entry-level staff nurse roles).
- Certifications: Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification is highly desirable.

Key Skills & Requirements

- Language Proficiency: Fluency in Tamil is required for clear communication with patients and local staff; working knowledge of English for medical reporting.
- Clinical Knowledge: Strong grasp of pharmacology, patient assessment, emergency care protocols, and ICU/ward workflows.
- Interpersonal Skills: Deep empathy, resilience under high-pressure clinical situations, and ability to collaborate effectively with medical teams.
