Job Description

We are looking for an experienced web developer to maintain, troubleshoot, and improve multiple existing websites and web applications.

Our websites are primarily built with CodeIgniter 4, PHP, Core WordPress, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and MySQL. Strong, recent, hands-on experience with CodeIgniter 4 is mandatory for this role.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with existing and legacy codebases, diagnosing production issues, and implementing new pages and features without affecting existing functionality, design, performance, or SEO. You must be able to understand an unfamiliar codebase quickly, follow its established architecture, and make carefully scoped changes.

Responsibilities

- Maintain and improve existing CodeIgniter 4, PHP, Core WordPress, and static HTML websites.
- Review and understand the existing codebase before making changes.
- Diagnose and resolve frontend, backend, database, routing, API, configuration, and server-related issues.
- Create responsive pages from provided designs and content while following existing templates and styles.
- Modify controllers, models, routes, views, templates, language files, and configuration files.
- Follow the existing project structure, coding standards, and naming conventions.
- Develop and troubleshoot WordPress REST API integrations.
- Handle API authentication, pagination, timeouts, errors, and unavailable data appropriately.
- Integrate third-party APIs and services.
- Configure environment-specific values through .env or the project's existing configuration system.
- Diagnose and resolve MySQL and database-related issues.
- Improve website speed, security,



accessibility, and mobile responsiveness.
- Implement technical SEO requirements, including metadata, canonical URLs, redirects, HTTP 404 and 410 responses, schema markup, robots directives, sitemaps, and URL rewriting.
- Work safely with dynamic and programmatically generated pages.
- Test all changes on localhost or staging before deployment.
- Perform functional, responsive, cross-browser, and regression testing.
- Deploy updates safely and provide rollback instructions when required.
- Use Git and GitHub for version control, code review, and change tracking.
- Provide a complete and accurate list of every file added, modified, or removed.

Required Skills and Experience

- Strong hands-on PHP and CodeIgniter 4 experience.
- Proven experience maintaining existing production CodeIgniter 4 applications.
- Solid understanding of CodeIgniter 4 controllers, models, views, routes, filters, services, validation, configuration, environment handling, and error handling.
- Good experience with Core WordPress development and troubleshooting, not only page builders or plugins.
- Strong HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and responsive web design skills.
- Strong MySQL and database troubleshooting skills.




- Experience with REST APIs and third-party integrations.
- Experience with Git and GitHub workflows.
- Ability to understand and safely modify existing or legacy codebases.
- Ability to diagnose production issues and implement fixes without creating regressions.
- Understanding of website security and secure coding practices.
- Understanding of technical SEO implementation.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions and project scope accurately.
- Clear written communication, dependable availability, and reliable delivery.

Preferred Skills

- Node.js experience.
- Experience with Linux servers and command-line tools.
- Experience with DigitalOcean, Hostinger, cPanel, Plesk, AWS, GoDaddy, or similar hosting platforms.
- Knowledge of Apache, .htaccess, redirects, canonicalization, and URL rewriting.
- Experience managing and maintaining multiple websites.
- Experience integrating WordPress content with CodeIgniter applications.
- Experience working with dynamic location pages or other programmatically generated pages.

Pay: ₹65,000.00 per month
