Key Responsibilities

- Team supervision: Allocate work to technicians/workshop staff, monitor performance, and provide guidance and support.
- Work planning: Schedule jobs and ensure work is completed within agreed timelines.
- Quality control: Inspect completed work and ensure repairs, maintenance, fabrication, or production meet required standards.
- Safety management: Enforce workplace safety procedures, PPE requirements, housekeeping, and safe use of tools and machinery.
- Equipment management: Ensure tools, machinery, and workshop equipment are properly maintained and available when required.
- Material management: Monitor stock of spare parts, tools, consumables, and other materials; coordinate replenishment when needed.
- Maintenance coordination: Plan and supervise preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
- Problem solving: Diagnose operational issues and coordinate technical solutions for equipment or workflow problems.
- Productivity monitoring: Track job progress, downtime, labour utilization, and workshop output.
- Documentation: Maintain job cards, maintenance records, inspection reports, inventory records, and other workshop documentation.
- Staff training: Train employees on procedures, equipment operation, quality requirements, and safety practices.
- Coordination: Work with management, stores,



purchasing, production, engineering, and other departments to keep operations running smoothly.
- Customer/service coordination: Where applicable, communicate job status, requirements, delays, and technical issues to customers or service teams.
- Cost control: Minimize unnecessary material usage, rework, overtime, equipment downtime, and other operational costs.
- Housekeeping: Maintain an organized, clean, and efficient workshop environment.
- Compliance: Ensure workshop activities comply with company procedures, applicable regulations, and relevant technical standards.

- Review pending and priority jobs.
- Assign work to technicians.
- Check tools, equipment, and material availability.
- Monitor work progress and resolve issues.
- Conduct quality and safety checks.
- Update job cards and maintenance records.
- Coordinate with other departments.
- Review completed work and plan the next day's activities.
