The role of an EHS Project Manager (Environmental, Health, and Safety) for corporate interior fit-outs is critical for managing safety governance in fast-track, high-stakes workplace construction environments.

Key Responsibilities

Safety Governance & Policy : Develop, implement, and maintain site-specific EHS policies, SOPs, and Management Systems (SMS) tailored for interior design and build.
Risk Management : Perform thorough Hazard Identification and Risk Assessments (HIRA) for high-risk activities such as working at heights, electrical works, and hot works.
Compliance & Audits : Ensure 100% compliance with local statutory regulations (e.g., Factories Act, BOCW) and client-specific EHS standards through regular site audits and inspections.
Incident Management : Lead investigations into accidents and near-misses, conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and implement Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
Training & Awareness : Deliver safety inductions, toolbox talks, and emergency drills (e.g., fire safety) for all employees and subcontractors.
Environmental Oversight : Manage waste segregation, air quality,



and noise levels; support sustainability certifications like LEED or IGBC .

Stakeholder Coordination : Act as the primary EHS liaison between project managers, contractors, and corporate clients, providing regular MIS reports and safety dashboards.

Required Qualifications & Skills

Education : Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or Safety Management.
Certifications : Mandatory certifications such as NEBOSH (IGC), IOSH , or a Diploma in Industrial Safety (ADIS/DIS).
Experience : Typically 5–10 years of experience in EHS, with a strong focus on commercial/corporate interior fit-out projects.
Technical Knowledge : Proficiency in ISO 45001 (Health & Safety) and ISO 14001 (Environmental) standards, as well as Indian statutory safety norms.
Soft Skills : Strong leadership, communication, and high-impact presentation skills for client and leadership reporting.
