Job Summary

The Warehouse Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the book/print warehouse, including receipt of new print runs, inventory management by title/ISBN, storage, order fulfillment to distributors and online channels, staff supervision, and compliance with safety standards. The ideal candidate will ensure operational efficiency, accuracy of title-level stock, and timely dispatch while maintaining a safe, clean, and well-organized warehouse environment suited to handling paper-based stock.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan, coordinate, and monitor the receipt of new print runs/reprints from printers and the storage and dispatch of finished books.
- Manage and optimize warehouse layout and racking for title-wise, ISBN-wise, or format-wise (hardback, paperback, etc.) storage and easy retrieval.
- Supervise, train, and evaluate warehouse staff, including pickers, packers, and loaders handling book cartons and pallets.
- Maintain accurate title-level and ISBN-level inventory records; conduct regular stock audits/cycle counts to track fast-moving, slow-moving, and out-of-print titles.
- Implement and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) for careful handling of books to prevent damage, moisture, pest, and pilferage issues.
- Ensure timely order processing, packing, and dispatch to distributors, retail bookstores, online marketplaces, and direct customers to meet SLAs.
- Coordinate with the production/printing team, editorial, sales,



and distribution teams for smooth inbound flow of new titles and reprints.
- Monitor and control warehouse budgets, including labor, packaging materials, and operational costs.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and statutory regulations, including fire safety and proper storage conditions for paper stock (humidity/pest control).
- Manage relationships with printers, transporters, courier partners, and third-party logistics/distribution providers.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies, damaged stock, returns from distributors/retailers, and process bottlenecks.
- Implement technology solutions (WMS/ERP/inventory systems) to track titles, editions, and reprints accurately.
- Prepare and present regular reports on warehouse KPIs (inventory accuracy, order fulfillment rate, return rate, dead stock/remainder tracking, turnaround time, etc.) to management.
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety standards across the warehouse facility, with special attention to conditions that preserve book/paper quality.
- Coordinate remainder sales, pulping/disposal of unsold or damaged stock, and management of returns as per publishing industry practice.

Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
