Job Summary – Hobbing Machine Operator

We are hiring an experienced Hobbing Machine Operator to operate and set up gear hobbing machines for manufacturing precision gears and related components. The candidate should have positive knowledge of gear cutting, machine setting, tooling, engineering drawings and inspection.

Key Responsibilities:

- Operate and set up Gear Hobbing Machine for gear manufacturing.
- Perform spur gear, helical gear and spline cutting operations.
- Read and understand gear drawings, engineering drawings, dimensions and tolerances.
- Set hob cutters, fixtures, work holding and machine parameters as per job requirements.
- Calculate/set required gear cutting parameters and indexing.
- Check gear dimensions and quality using Vernier, Micrometer, Gear Tooth Vernier, Plug/Ring Gauges and other measuring instruments.




- Maintain required gear profile, tooth accuracy, backlash and surface finish.
- Monitor cutting tools and replace/adjust tools when required.
- Coordinate with Production and Quality teams to achieve production and quality targets.
- Follow machine safety procedures and maintain proper housekeeping.

Preferred Experience:
2–8 years of experience as a Hobbing Machine Operator / Gear Hobbing Operator / Gear Cutting Operator, preferably in gear manufacturing, heavy engineering, machine manufacturing or machine-tool industries.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
