Plant HR Lead – Arvind Advanced Materials Division (TPD-II, Bangalore, Karnataka)

Role Purpose

The Plant HR Lead is responsible for leading the entire HR function at the plant level, ensuring effective people management, strong industrial relations, statutory compliance, and alignment of HR practices with plant operations and business objectives. The role acts as a strategic HR partner to plant leadership while ensuring smooth day-to-day HR and ER operations.

Key Responsibilities

Industrial Relations & Employee Relations

- Lead industrial relations strategy for the plant, ensuring harmonious employee and union relationships

- Handle negotiations, settlements, disciplinary actions, domestic enquiries, and grievance redressal

- Liaise with labour unions, local authorities, and government bodies to ensure smooth operations

- Proactively manage IR risks and ensure continuity of plant operations

Statutory Compliance & Governance

- Ensure 100% compliance with labour laws, factory laws, contract labour regulations, and statutory audits

- Manage inspections, licenses, renewals, and statutory filings (PF, ESIC, CLRA, Factories Act, etc.)

- Act as the single point of contact for legal, labour, and compliance matters at the plant

Plant HR Operations

- Oversee full employee lifecycle management for plant employees (hire to retire)

- Manage contract labour administration including deployment, attendance, wages, and compliance

- Supervise time office, payroll inputs, attendance systems, and coordination with corporate payroll

- Ensure effective handling of F&F;, separations, and exit processes

Talent Management & Manpower Planning

- Drive plant manpower planning in line with production requirements and budgets

- Support recruitment of shop floor, staff, and contract workforce

- Partner with functional heads for succession planning and capability building





- Support training, skill development, and shop floor productivity initiatives

Employee Engagement & Culture

- Drive employee engagement initiatives and welfare activities at plant level

- Ensure effective communication channels between management and employees

- Promote protected, inclusive, and disciplined work culture aligned with organizational values

Administration, Safety & Welfare

- Oversee plant administrative functions including canteen, transport, security, and housekeeping

- Partner with EHS teams to ensure compliance with safety standards and zero-harm culture

- Support audits related to safety, social compliance, and customer requirements

Stakeholder Management & Reporting

- Act as HR SPOC for the plant and key member of the plant leadership team

- Provide regular HR MIS, dashboards, and reports to corporate HR and plant leadership

- Support corporate HR initiatives and policy roll-outs at plant level

Key Skills & Competencies

- Strong expertise in Industrial Relations and labour law compliance

- Deep understanding of manufacturing plant HR dynamics

- Proven ability to handle unions, workforce issues, and complex IR situations

- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills

- Hands-on, execution-focused leadership approach

- High integrity, resilience, and decision-making ability

Qualifications & Experience

- Master’s degree in Human Resources / Labour Welfare / Personnel Management

- 12–18 years of experience in HR, with significant exposure as Plant HR Head / Lead

- Experience in managing large shopfloor and contract workforce is essential

- Prior experience in manufacturing / textile / heavy industry preferred
