Bishop Cotton School, Shimla - India invites applications for the position of Director of Sports to lead, develop and transform the School’s sporting programme.

We are looking for an accomplished and highly motivated sports professional who can create a culture where fitness, participation, discipline and competitive excellence become an integral part of every student’s education.

THE ROLE

- Develop and implement a comprehensive Sports Strategy for the School.
- Build strong school teams capable of competing successfully at inter-school, district, state and national levels.
- Identify talented students and create structured pathways for their development.
- Ensure high levels of sports participation and physical fitness across the entire student body.
- Lead, mentor and evaluate the School’s coaches and PE staff.
- Establish qualified coaching standards, training programmes and performance benchmarks.
- Plan the annual sports calendar, tournaments, fixtures, camps and inter-house competitions.
- Develop relationships with professional coaches, academies, sporting associations and institutions.
- Introduce measurable systems for monitoring student fitness, participation, team performance and individual

sporting achievement.

- Ensure sporting infrastructure, grounds, equipment and facilities are maintained and utilised to a high standard.
- Promote sportsmanship, discipline, resilience, teamwork and leadership through sport.




- Help identify opportunities for exceptional athletes to progress to higher levels of competitive sport.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

- Substantial experience in sports leadership, coaching or sports administration.
- Experience in a reputed school, boarding school, university, sports academy, armed forces institution or professional sporting organisation.
- M.P.ED is preferred.
- A sound understanding of sports science, physical conditioning, coaching methodology and athlete development.
- Experience organising competitive sporting events and tournaments.
- Ability to recruit, develop and motivate high-quality coaches.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- A genuine passion for working with young people and developing character through sport.
