We are looking for an enthusiastic AI/ML Intern who is passionate about applying Artificial Intelligence and Computer Vision to solve real-world problems in agriculture.

Role Overview

As an AI/ML Intern, you will work on practical AI solutions involving Computer Vision, Image Detection, OCR, Object Detection, and Machine Learning for agricultural applications.

You will work with real-world images and field data to develop systems that can help identify crops, detect agricultural products, analyze images, extract information, and support quality assessment and farm-level decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop, train, test, and optimize Machine Learning and Deep Learning models.
- Build Computer Vision solutions for agricultural images and videos.
- Develop object detection and image classification models using YOLO and other suitable frameworks.
- Work on crop, leaf, fruit, seed, grain, and agricultural product image detection.
- Develop image-based solutions for identifying crop conditions, diseases, defects, and quality parameters.
- Implement and improve OCR systems for extracting information from images, documents, labels, invoices, and agricultural records.
- Perform image preprocessing, augmentation, annotation, and dataset preparation.
- Collect, clean, label, and analyze image and structured/unstructured datasets.
- Train and fine-tune deep learning models using frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
- Evaluate model performance using appropriate metrics such as precision, recall, F1-score, mAP, and IoU.
- Experiment with different Computer Vision architectures and techniques to improve model accuracy.




- Work with real-world agricultural datasets and handle challenges such as different lighting conditions, backgrounds, image quality, camera angles, and field environments.
- Collaborate with the technology and agricultural teams to convert real-world agricultural problems into AI-based solutions.
- Document experiments, model performance, findings, and improvements.

Required Technical SkillsComputer Vision

- Strong understanding of Computer Vision fundamentals.
- Image processing and image analysis.
- Image classification and image segmentation.
- Object detection and image recognition.
- Experience working with real-world image datasets.

YOLO & Object Detection

- Practical knowledge of YOLO models.
- Understanding of YOLOv5 / YOLOv8 / YOLO11 or similar object detection architectures.
- Experience with bounding-box annotation and dataset preparation.
- Knowledge of IoU, mAP, precision, recall, and F1-score.
- Experience training or fine-tuning object detection models is preferred.

OCR

- Understanding of Optical Character Recognition (OCR).
- Familiarity with Tesseract OCR, EasyOCR, PaddleOCR, or similar technologies.
- Image preprocessing techniques for improving OCR accuracy.
- Ability to extract and structure information from images and scanned documents.

Programming & ML

- Strong Python programming skills.
- Knowledge of NumPy, Pandas, OpenCV, and Matplotlib.
- Familiarity with PyTorch or TensorFlow.
- Understanding of Machine Learning and Deep Learning concepts.
- Basic knowledge of CNNs, transfer learning, and model fine-tuning.
- Familiarity with Git/GitHub is preferred.

The intern may work on projects such as:

- Crop and plant image detection
- Leaf and crop disease detection
- Chilli and turmeric image analysis
- Grain and agricultural commodity detection
- Quality and defect detection
- Agricultural product classification
- Field image analysis
- OCR for agricultural documents and records
- Computer Vision for farm monitoring
- AI-based agricultural data analysis and decision-support systems

- Has hands-on experience with YOLO or object detection.
- Has worked on at least one Computer Vision/OCR project.
- Can independently research, experiment, debug, and improve models.
- Is comfortable working with large image datasets.
- Has robust problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Is excited about applying AI to real-world agriculture and supply-chain problems.
