Key responsibilities:

1. Inspect, service, repair and maintain buses.

2. Diagnose mechanical faults and identify root causes.

3. Carry out engine, brake, steering, suspension and transmission repairs.

4. Perform oil, filter, lubrication and scheduled maintenance activities.

5. Conduct daily, weekly and schedule-based preventive maintenance.

6. Attend and support line breakdown maintenance promptly.

7. Check the complete brake system and ensure no bus is turned out with even a minor brake issue.

8. Report CNG leakage, hub oil leakage and other safety-critical defects immediately.

9. Use correct tools, jacks and workshop equipment and follow secure heavy-duty work practices.

10. Carry out post-repair checks and confirm serviceability.

11. Complete job cards, registers and repair records and hand over pending work.





12. Keep failed parts at designated locations and maintain toolbox discipline.

Mechanic – Authority & Safety

· Declare a bus unfit where a safety component such as brakes, CNG or suspension is defective.

· Hold the vehicle and escalate to the supervisor when unsafe.

· Refuse to bypass faults or accept unsafe instructions.

· Wear uniform and follow all workshop safety procedures.
