- Mapping and Drafting: Use Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software to create accurate maps, plats, and reports.
- Collaboration: Work closely with civil engineers, architects, project managers, and contractors.
- Legal Compliance: Establish official boundaries for deeds and legal documents, and help resolve property disputes
- Education: A bachelor's degree in surveying, geomatics, or a related field.
- Licensing: State or regional licensure to sign and certify legal survey documents.
- Technical Skills: Solid math abilities and proficiency in GPS, GIS, and CAD software.
