Role description

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced SQL Server DBA Lead to provide technical and operational leadership for enterprise SQL Server platforms. The role involves leading database teams, driving database strategy, overseeing critical programs, and partnering with business stakeholders to ensure high-performing, scalable, and reliable database environments. The ideal candidate will have solid expertise in Enterprise SQL Server Administration, SQL Server Architecture & Design, Team Leadership / DBA Team Management, and SQL Server Performance Engineering / Performance Tuning.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and mentor a team of SQL DBAs and database engineers.
- Own and drive the SQL Server platform strategy and roadmap.
- Provide leadership for enterprise database initiatives and transformation programs.
- Define and enforce standards for database availability, performance, security, and operational excellence.
- Lead database architecture reviews and design discussions for enterprise SQL Server environments.
- Drive SQL Server Performance Engineering / Performance Tuning initiatives to optimize database performance and scalability.
- Oversee capacity planning and database growth strategies.
- Manage major incidents, escalations, and stakeholder communications related to database platforms.
- Govern database operations across production environments and ensure service reliability.
- Establish operational best practices and automation initiatives to improve efficiency.
- Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders on database strategy and platform improvements.
