About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and strategic General Manager – HR & Administration to lead the complete HR, Industrial Relations, Administration, and statutory compliance functions of our distillery/ethanol manufacturing plant at Nalagarh, Himachal Pradesh.

The ideal candidate must have strong hands-on experience in HR & Administration within a distillery, ethanol, chemical, process, or manufacturing plant, with a strong understanding of plant-level manpower management, labour laws, statutory compliance, employee relations, and industrial discipline.

Key Responsibilities

HR & Manpower Management

- Lead end-to-end HR operations for the manufacturing plant.
- Develop manpower plans based on production and operational requirements.
- Manage recruitment, onboarding, transfers, promotions, and workforce deployment.
- Ensure optimum utilization of manpower across departments and shifts.
- Manage employee engagement, performance management, training, and retention.
- Develop and implement HR policies, SOPs, and processes.

Industrial Relations & Employee Relations

- Handle employee grievances, disciplinary matters, absenteeism, and workforce-related issues.
- Manage relations with workmen, supervisors, contractors, and employee representatives.
- Handle disciplinary proceedings and ensure proper documentation.
- Maintain industrial discipline and a positive work environment.
- Manage contract labour and manpower contractors.

Statutory Compliance

- Ensure compliance with applicable labour and employment laws.
- Oversee compliance related to Factories Act, PF, ESI, Bonus, Gratuity, Minimum Wages, Payment of Wages, Contract Labour,



and other applicable regulations.
- Coordinate labour inspections, audits, notices, and statutory submissions.
- Maintain statutory registers, records, licences, and compliance documentation.
- Liaise with government departments and statutory authorities when required.

Plant Administration

- Oversee complete plant administration and facility management.
- Manage security, housekeeping, transportation, canteen, employee welfare, and other administrative functions.
- Implement plant-level administrative SOPs and systems.
- Monitor attendance, leave, shift schedules, overtime, and workforce discipline.
- Oversee biometric attendance and HRIS/ERP-related HR processes.

EHS & Safety Coordination

- Coordinate with EHS/Safety teams regarding employee safety and statutory requirements.
- Ensure implementation of PPE, safety training, emergency preparedness, and safety awareness programs.
- Support plant management in maintaining a safe and compliant workplace.

Payroll & HR Operations

- Supervise attendance, leave, payroll inputs, overtime, incentives, deductions, and statutory contributions.
- Coordinate with Finance for accurate and timely salary processing.
- Monitor HR MIS, manpower, absenteeism, overtime, attrition, and other HR metrics.

Strategic HR

- Partner with senior management on workforce planning and organizational development.
- Develop employee engagement and welfare initiatives.
- Identify skill gaps and implement training and development programs.
- Prepare and manage HR & Administration budgets.




- Provide regular HR reports and workforce insights to senior management.

Mandatory Experience

Candidates must have relevant plant HR experience, preferably from:

- Distillery / Ethanol Manufacturing Plant
- Alcohol Manufacturing / Biofuel Industry
- Chemical / Process Manufacturing
- Large-scale Manufacturing / Factory Operations

Experience in a distillery or ethanol plant will be strongly preferred.

Candidates with only corporate, IT, BPO, or non-plant HR experience will not be preferred.

Qualification

- MBA/PGDM in HR / Personnel Management preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in any relevant discipline.
- Strong knowledge of Indian labour laws and statutory compliance.

Preferred Candidate Profile

- 12–15+ years of overall HR experience
- Strong experience in distillery/ethanol plant HR
- Experience managing blue-collar/workmen manpower
- Strong industrial relations and labour-law knowledge
- Ability to independently manage the complete HR & Admin function of a manufacturing plant
- Strong coordination with Production, Operations, EHS, Finance, and senior management
- Comfortable working in a plant workplace
- Willing to relocate/work in Nalagarh, Himachal Pradesh

Compensation

CTC: As per experience and industry standards.
