How you'll make an impact

Gallagher Bassett is searching for a meticulous and experienced Data Engineer to join our talented team.

To succeed in this role, you must be able to conceive and portray the data picture. These individual initiates, evaluate, and influences projects, he or she is involved from the perspective of the entire organization. The ideal candidate will also have proven experience in data integration and data analysis, with excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities.

- Key Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and maintain reliable data pipelines and integration workflows.
- Design and implement data transformation processes to support analytics and reporting needs.
- Build and maintain data models, tables, and data marts under defined architectural guidelines.
- Develop ETL/ELT processes across on-premise and cloud-based data platforms.
- Work with structured and semi-structured data (e.g., XML, JSON) to ensure accurate ingestion and processing.
- Monitor data pipelines, identify issues, and support troubleshooting and resolution.
- Collaborate with business analysts,



data architects, and cross-functional teams to understand data requirements.
- Ensure data quality, consistency, and integrity across systems.
- Support integration of AI/ML and LLM-based solutions by preparing and delivering high-quality datasets.
- Assist in enabling AI-driven use cases such as semantic search, intelligent data retrieval, and analytics.
- Follow established data engineering standards, best practices, and documentation processes.
- Support CI/CD workflows for deployment and automation of data solutions.

Job Qualifications:

- 3–5 years of experience in data engineering or data integration.
- Strong hands-on experience with SQL and T-SQL and relational databases (preferably Microsoft SQL Server).
- Experience with at least one data integration tool such as SSIS or Azure Data Factory (ADF).
- Strong understanding of medallion / data vault architecture is required.
- Familiarity with XML and JSON data formats and experience with cloud data platforms (e.g., Azure Data Services) is preferred.
- Understanding of data quality principles and validation techniques.
- Basic understanding of AI/ML concepts and Generative AI (LLMs).
- Familiarity with consuming AI/LLM APIs (e.g., Azure OpenAI, OpenAI, or similar platforms).
- Exposure to embeddings, vector databases, and semantic search concepts.




- Understanding of data preparation and pipeline requirements for AI/ML and LLM-based applications.
- Awareness of integrating AI-driven capabilities into data workflows and analytics solutions.
- Experience with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and tools
- Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as GIT
- Excellent organizational and analytical abilities with problem solving skills.
- Able to hit the ground running with a can-do attitude, curious.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, including the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or relevant field.
